Sugar Cookies

Plants vs. Zombies themed Sugar Cookies

Sugar cookies – it’s not that sweet. You’ll get the sweetness from the royal icing or fondant decor that you’re going to put on top of the cookie. It’s highly addictive with the cookies alone. I tried the ones that have been broken. Hehe.

I’m a not addicted to sweets. Haha, how ironic. I just love to make them and make people smile with my works. I’m glad that most of them appreciates my craft and trusts me with my creativity.

I’m proud to say that my sugar cookies aren’t super hard than the others. It remains soft, well not really SoftΒ but you know, rest assured your teeth won’t fly away. I never overbake it. I make sure it was only baked at the right amount of time.

I have two flavors as of the moment: the ever classic Vanilla and the highly addictive Chocolate. Maybe Gingerbread will come around during Christmas season! πŸ™‚

Heart-shaped Sugar Cookies

I usually let my customers decide what they want as their design. The heart shaped cookies above was for valentine’s day and my client decided on the design.

I usually give options for clients, I give also my ideas to them. Just like what I do in my cupcakes and cakes, clients have the freedom to choose what they wanted and I’ll try to execute it the best I can and add some of my ideas on it as well.

Minnie Mouse – shaped Sugar Cookies

One of the most difficult to do was probably Minnie Mouse. Because you rarely can find a Minnie cookie cutter or let’s just say a Disney inspired cookie cutter.

At first I was gonna give up on doing the shape, but I just go with my instinct, print Minnie Mouse head via PC cut it, paste it on the cardboard, then use it as a stencil for the dough.

It worked as you can see. I was really glad to see the outcome of this. But you really need a cookie cutter when you’re gonna make tons of these. Using a paring knife cut it out, it takes double the amount of time of just cutting it on your cookie cutter.

For cartoon character inspired cookies, I never do it on the sugar cookies itself, the reason is it won’t look like the character you wanted. I usually make the cartoon toppers the same with the toppers I use on cakes and cupcakes, then flood the sugar cookies with icing then stick the dried toppers on top. πŸ™‚

Circle and Star-shaped Sugar Cookies

Always make extras, you’ll never know. Sometimes accidents happen. Sometimes I accidentally brushed my arms on the semi-dry sugar cookies that the dry top was ruined, you can’t flood it over again as it’ll show at your end product.

I’m very strict when it comes to quality so I always make sure that everything is in good shape before packing them and giving them out to clients.

Shih Tzu, Pomeranian and Chihuahua Sugar Cookies

I tried making these last year, my first try was an epic fail. πŸ™‚ Haha. I wasn’t making toppers then, but when I got the hang of it, I tried it again early this year, and it was a success. I was so happy. Now I get to do a lot of sugar cookie projects. Aside from cupcakes and cakes of course.

Barnyard-themed Sugar Cookies

One of my clients ordered these cute animal inspired sugar cookies. She liked it and even blogged it. Here’s theΒ link.

I was very happy she liked it. This is one of the current project I made. πŸ™‚ I was happy of the outcome, I love the sheep. It’s so cute! πŸ™‚ Also the cow. πŸ™‚ I’m getting inspired with all the feedbacks I get that I always want the best for everyone.

Bone-shaped Sugar Cookies

This was made two weeks ago. My aunt ordered a pet inspired sugar cookies, so there’s the bone-shaped, dog house, paw and dog, of course!

She was happy with the results. πŸ™‚ She really loved it. It was her dog’s birthday last June 5th and she ordered these to give it to her friends as a small giveaway.

Paw-shaped Sugar Cookies

I absolutely adore the paw shaped ones, I’m always fond of paws eversince. πŸ˜›

Dog House-shaped Sugar Cookies

Packaging – I package them individually in a plastic packaging. I wrapped them around a wire and add a colored ribbon to make it cute. Here’s the sample:

The red one tied around the plastic was the wire. You can check the ribbons on the Barnyard-themed cookies. πŸ™‚ My ribbon depends on my mood, or what I have. If you want to suggest and I have it, I’ll use it. :p

Since this is all about sugar cookies, I’ll list the cookie cutters I have as of the moment, I’m slowly adding up bit by bit my Cookie Cutter collection. Here they are:

Christmas theme: Angel, Santa, Bell, Candy Cane, Star, Reindeer, Christmas Tree

Heart

Princess theme: Shoes, Tiara, Castle

Baby theme: Carriage, Onesies, Rocking Horse, Teddy Bear

Wedding theme: Twin Bells, Gown, Cake, Twin Hearts
